I let him off with it because that's how I feel about Halloween. It was never celebrated in the UK until recent years. I feel a bit like Scrooge saying "Bah Humbug" to it all, "it's just begging with threats" & I refuse to buy sweets etc! My husband always does so when I say he's being conned he just laughs. My husband does...Well, that's my point exactly. My husband doesn't care about Valentines Day either. We live in Austria, and as in Germany, Valentines Day wasn't celebrated until a few years ago. (As was Halloween and now it's a huge hit around here!) <br />But I agree with you - it's the small things in every day live that count much more, than this particular day. And giving you the nicer piece of cake is an incredible sign of love.
